Since the Youth7 Summit in late May 2022, Co-Chairs, Track Sherpas and Delegates have participated in G7 Ministerial Meetings, Summit events by fellow engagement groups as well as in numerous advocacy events presenting the Youth7 Communiqué to political leaders, decision-makers and stakeholders across policy fields.
Co-Chair Carolina Claus underlined the importance to engage with the Presidency’s programme and the G7 Communiqué in an open yet critical way:

Any political agreement reached must stand the test on whether they deliver for the young generation. We will face the major challenges of the climate crisis, a just economic and societal transformation, democracies under pressure and the need for global solidarity. We call to include mental health in the G7 agenda for the post-pandemic world.”
Already by March, Youth7 extended an invitation to the National Youth Council of Ukraine (NYCU) to join as a partner Delegation and amended the Working Schedule to include Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) as a thematic track. The Youth7 Summit further welcomed Delegations from Indonesia, which holds the G20 Presidency in 2022, Senegal and South Africa.
As Co-Chair Benjamin Günther stresses, young people’s comprehensive and meaningful participation in peace processes and strong partnerships with youth organisations foster societal cohesion and integration. Adding, “we urge the G7 to lead by example in the implementation and institutionalisation of the global YPS Agenda.” Regarding the Delegates’ vision, the Youth7 Communiqué states:
We stand for inclusive, diverse, barrier-free youth participation that ensures all young people are heard and recognised.”
Youth7 Delegates are committed to their voluntary engagement to advocate on behalf of their generations and future generations to come.” The Co-Chairs Carolina Claus and Benjamin Günther join in advocating to ensure young people’s voices and recommendations are heard at Schloss Elmau.
IJAB, the International Youth Service of the Federal Republic of Germany, is coordinating the Youth7 participation process 2022 in cooperation with the German National Committee for International Youth Work. The Youth7 participation process 2022 is funded by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.
