Youth4Peace
Eighty years after the end of the Second World War in Europe, Berlin became a meeting place for 80 young adults from 26 countries from 3 to 10 May 2025. Many of them have had their own experiences with war, discrimination or political oppression. Nine international youth work organisations had invited them – together they formed the international ‘Youth4Peace’ conference.
In workshops and discussions – including with contemporary witnesses from countries such as Ukraine and Israel – the participants developed their own projects to be implemented later in their countries of origin. Highlights of the meeting included participation in the official commemoration ceremony on 8 May 2025 in the German Bundestag and discussions with Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Federal Youth Minister Karin Prien. The participants presented them with their ‘Agenda for Peace’.
