Preventing radicalism, strengthening democracy
Given current developments in Germany, Europe and around the world, the prevention of political and religious extremism is a highly relevant topic in the youth work community. The global character of today's social, political and socioeconomic challenges means that European and international cooperation and dialogue is essential when it comes to preventing radicalisation.
International exchanges are a valuable way to professionalise child and youth services experts in this field. The exchanges deliver new perspectives and ideas for the experts' own work, promote network building, and enable participating organisations to develop a more international outlook.
The project " Preventing Radicalisation and Promoting Democracy through International Exchange" is affiliated with the Federal Government programme Live Democracy!. It was run by IJAB – International Youth Service of the Federal Republic of Germany and provided organisations implementing the government programme with targeted support in this area.
